Data Voice Systems Moving Timetable Checklist



To ensure a smooth transition, while opening a new office or moving to a new location, SCT Product Sales, Inc. is pleased to provide you with the following checklist. You may want to consider this formula, while meeting your voice and data requirements.

- Moving Computers and Network Equipment

3 Months - Determine whether you need any equipment upgrades.

3 Months - Make the necessary arrangements to interview potential vendors and begin your process of selection, when you need new equipment.

2 Months - Consult with your computer equipment vendor concerning the relocation of network and systems needs.

1 Month - As soon as possible after your office move, schedule a computer / LAN consultant to shut down and restore your office computer system / LAN.

1 Day - Back up all your business data, while making sure your employees use PCs for backing up the equipment they use.

- Moving Your Telecommunications System

3 Months - Identify your current usage and your future needs.

3 Months - Determine whether you need to move your existing telephone system or purchase a new one.

3 Months - When selecting a new telephone system, take time to interview the vendors you have selected while submitting your proposals.

3 Months - Choose your dial tone and your long distance provider for interviews and then submit your proposals. Please permit Delta to make these comparisons for you and your business.

3 Months - Review the proposals and select your vendors.

3 Months - Consult with from voice and data cabling companies representatives and have them review the new area and tour your new facilities to determine you present requirements.

2 - 1 Months - Choose your voice and data cabling vendor.

1 Month - Make your arrangements for telephones to be operational as soon as you move into your new offices.

1 Month - Determine whether you will require the use of the telephones to forward to a temporary location or to the home office, while you are moving.

1 Month - Begin the installation of voice and data cabling. The property owner and the property owners contractor should coordinate this activity with the cabling vendor.

0 to 10 Days - To begin leaning the new systems, you should hold administrative and employee training sessions.
